Australia elect to bat against Kenya


BANGALORE: Australia captain Ricky Ponting won the toss and elected to bat against Kenya in their World Cup Group A match at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Sunday.

Mike Hussey, who replaced the injured Doug Bollinger last week, made an expected return to the Australian team at the expense of his brother David Hussey.

Kenya made two changes to the team that lost to Canada with Steve Tikolo and Seren Waters being replaced by Rakep Patel and Alex Obanda.

Holders Australia, who have not lost a World Cup match since 1999, will qualify for the quarter-finals with victory on Sunday.

Kenya are still searching for their first win in the tournament after crushing defeats by New Zealand, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. They were also beaten by fellow second-tier side Canada.
